    There's No "Place" Like School

This week at school, we started to learn about place value. We played a game called "Place Value Scoot". On each student's desk, there was a card with a number problem on it. For example, one card had 60+5 and then on our sheet, we had to write the answer 65. We then scooted over to the next desk and answered another problem. Nate thought the game was fun. Aryanna LOVED it and Alexis thought it was so fun to play. Gerri said it was LOUD!

We also started place value centres. One of the centres was creating your name out of base ten blocks. We had to count and see how much our name was worth.

It was milk spirit week at school. Monday was milk moustache day, Tuesday was dress like a farmer day, Wednesday was "white out" day, Thursday was spotted cow day and Friday was jersey cow day. Mei liked dress like a farmer day. She wore a plaid shirt. Maggie liked jersey day and she wore a Pittsburgh jersey. Mitchel also liked jersey day and he wore a soccer jersey. Myles also enjoyed jersey day and he wore a Canada shirt.

We also started to talk a bit about wolves. Mei learned that they have 42 teeth, Jasmyn learned that wolf pups can join the pack on hunts when they are three years old. Alex learned that pups make a screeching sound. Maggie learned that adults eat 5 pounds of meat a day.

This week for Jets Math, we answered questions using our graphs. We had to expand the number of points certain teams had and we looked at our graphs to find the number of points. St. Louis had the most points with 101.
